Kent Elliot


Kent graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Human Movement Studies) and from Podiatry at QUT. During this time Kent took special interest in exercise and conditioning training. Kent has a personal interest in, and has participated in many sports including rugby, athletics, tennis and jogging. Kent has been with the Active Care Physiotherapy team at Capalaba since 2003.

The Active Care Podiatry team specializes in custom soft orthotics, heel pain and running injuries. If you are seeking a routine treatment, replacement orthotics or just general footwear advice, Active Care Podiatry has the treatment for you.

Joseph Spelta

Diet And Exercise Physiology

Joseph holds dual accreditation as a Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist and can counsel anyone to improve health. He leads the Eat Smart Capalaba Clinic, and has been helping clients improve their health and performance via nutrition and exercise for the last 10 years! He enjoys seeing the changes in clients from a healthy eating plan and appropriate training.

Having a young family, and running a busy practice, he had to change his own training priorities but still finds time for a few Gym/HIIT sessions and park runs every week. He is aiming to get his 100th park run completed in 2019 (PB 0:21:36). He also enjoys a round of golf and fishing.

Cath Gibbs

Remedial Massage Therapy

Cath obtained her Diploma of Remedial Massage through Elite Physiotherapy and Massage Academy in Brisbane. She has worked with a broad range of clients from NRL & AFL players, athletes from local clubs & schools; to members of the general public. One recent highlight for Cath was being part of the massage team at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

At Active Care Physiotherapy she works with clients experiencing lower back pain, neck pain, headaches or migraines, muscle tightness & stiffness, sports injuries or stress. Cath’s main approach to treatment is through Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point therapy. Cath is also qualified to provide Dry Needling and Chinese cupping. Her key objectives are to significantly improve or eradicate client’s symptoms by tailoring her extensive range of massage techniques to address each individual’s specific issues.

Xray/MRI/Ultrasound Referrals

At Active Care Physiotherapy, our practitioners can refer you for BULK BILLED X-rays as part of your care. We are also able to refer you for MRI and ultrasound scans to determine the cause or extent of your pain/injury. Unfortunately these scans do come at a cost but it does eliminate the need to see a GP which can be quite time consuming when a speedy recovery is needed.
